IMPORTANT TIPS FOR THE PROCESS

PLEASE READ!

All applications should be delivered to the SAAB Mailbox MSC #140. Unless delivered directly to the SAAB Chair/Grant Director during their office hours, always send saabgrants@lclark.edu a confirmation after you have submitted your application. Upon submitting their paperwork, applicants will be notified by email with further details.

Start now! Remember that you’ll want suggestions from friends and professors, and you’ll need two SAAB members to edit and sign your grant. SAAB Grant Board members are not required to meet with applicants if they are not contacted at least two weeks before the grant is turned in.

Revise, revise, revise. Your application should be excellent and free of any errors. Typos are an indication of a lack of concern and will diminish your chances of being funded. Note:

  • There are no exceptions for due dates—plan ahead! Applications must have ALL required elements in order to be heard by the board. Make sure to contact SAAB members in advance in order to procure a signature for your grant. Contacting the SAAB Grant Director as well will improve the depth of your grant and the process!
  • If you are funded, It takes the business office up to two-weeks to process the money you have been awarded. Please plan accordingly.
  • SAAB cannot fund food. In your itemised budget food should never be included and if it is the price listed will automatically be disregarded.

Presentations

Presentations are required for all grant applications. The SAAB Grant Director will schedule a presentation date after your application is received. All grants are heard during the SAAB Weekly meetings on Mondays. Each presentation should be 7 minutes long, and give a general overview of your grant application, budget, community give back, and purpose! Please dress professionally.

It is highly recommended that applicants meet with the SAAB Grant Director prior to beginning the application process.
