With the growing importance of higher education, college affordability has become a mounting national issue that greatly impacts current students, their families, and their community. On top of the increasing costs of higher education, life happens. We do not believe that unforeseeable financial setbacks should determine the future of a student’s attendance at Lewis & Clark. In light of this, the Associated Students of Lewis & Clark established Pioneers for Pioneers, a student-led effort that seeks to complement existing financial assistance to help when life happens. As of May 2018, almost 400 gifts have been made by more than 350 students, parents, alumni, and friends of the college donating more than $5,000 to help make a continued college education possible.
