Senate Candidates 2018

Hello Pios!

Attached to this email you’ll find the Fall 2018 ASLC Voter Information Packet, which contains candidate statements and photos for each of the students running for ASLC Senate. A separate email will go out in a few minutes with a link to your ballot. There are eighteen candidates running for twelve Senate seats, and you can vote for up to twelve candidates.

I would encourage you to take a few minutes to read over the statements before voting; these candidates are running to represent you and your fellow students and to solve problems that you see on campus. Voting is one of the best ways for you to have a say in your student government.

Voting will be open for exactly one week, so be sure to submit your ballot by 9:30 a.m. next Tuesday, September 25. Then stop by the ASLC table outside the Bon this week to pick up an I Voted sticker!

Additionally, the annual Senate debate will take place this Thursday, September 20, at 7pm in the Council Chambers. The debate is an opportunity for all of the Senate candidates to elaborate on their statements and talk about what concrete steps they would like to take if elected.

There will be a period for questions from the community, so if you have an issue with some aspect of student life, this is a great time to see where these candidates stand and how they’re planning to address it. Additionally, there will be free pizza for all attendees!

If you have any questions about voting or the debate, please don’t hesitate to contact me at
