Work will begin before the morning commute and may continue into the evening. A contractor will need to shift traffic lanes and perform a number of tasks as highway lanes north of the bridge shift west against new retaining walls. A concrete pour for the new bridge is also scheduled.
Drivers should expect delays on the bridge and Highway 43 throughout the day as crews remove old striping, add new striping, install barriers and fencing. The shift will allow crews to construct the east side of the interchange.
Drivers may want to use alternate routes such as the Ross Island Bridge or SW Terwilliger Blvd. on Wednesday.
